The Granfondo BGY is a prestigious cycling race that offers various route options to meet the needs of cyclists of different abilities and experience levels.
The medium route starts from Bergamo and immediately heads towards the Moscato di Scanzo hills, tackling the first climb on Colle dei Pasta.
It continues through Val Cavallina to reach Gaverina Terme, from where the attack begins for the second climb up Colle Gallo reaching 744 meters above sea level.
Descending towards Val Seriana, after a short transfer, cyclists face the legendary climb of Selvino, featuring 19 hairpin turns, each dedicated to a great cyclist from Bergamo. This climb is a must for both the Giro d'Italia and the Giro di Lombardia.
Reaching an altitude of 923 meters after 10.9 km of ascent, with an average gradient of 5.5% and a maximum of 10.6%.
After a break at the legendary fountain in Selvino, cyclists descend towards Val Brembana, ascending again through the scenic San Pellegrino. After San Giovanni Bianco, they take the road towards Val Taleggio.
After nearly 20 km of climbing through the typical "horridi" of the valley and other beautiful landscapes like Costa d'Olda up to Forcella di Bura.
Finally, descending again towards Valle Brembana and through a small, steady descent, cyclists return to Bergamo.
