A loop cycling route that brings together the diverse landscapes of Lombardy in one thrilling two-wheeled adventure.

The ride begins in Grumello del Monte, in the heart of the Bergamo lowlands, surrounded by vineyards and gentle hills. The initial stretch winds along quiet roads heading north, through small villages and open countryside, leading into the lush Val Cavallina.

The first real gem of the route is Lake Endine, a peaceful, picture-perfect lake nestled among the hills. The ride here is relaxing, following the shoreline and offering a moment of tranquility before the real challenge begins: the climb to the majestic Presolana Pass, one of the most iconic and scenic mountain passes in the Orobie Alps. The ascent is demanding but steady, cutting through conifer forests, alpine meadows, and charming mountain villages, with breathtaking views at every turn.

Once at the summit of the pass, a long descent leads into Val Camonica, passing through Malegno and other historic villages along the way. The route then re-enters the Bergamo province and meets the northern shores of Lake Iseo, where the beautiful town of Lovere awaits—one of Italy’s most picturesque lakeside villages.

From here, the ride continues along the western shore of the lake, through a mix of tunnels carved into the rock, gentle flats, and panoramic stretches, until reaching Sarnico, a lively lakeside town straddling the border between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. From Sarnico, the final leg of the loop winds back toward Grumello del Monte on secondary roads, cutting through fields, vineyards, and quiet rural settlements.

This route is varied and full of contrast, alternating relaxing sections with challenging climbs, and offering a continuous change of scenery—from plains to mountains, lakes to valleys. It’s the perfect experience for well-trained cyclists seeking an intense and unforgettable ride through the heart of Lombardy’s natural beauty.
